A day ahead is ideal. Same-day delivery is usually possible across Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park, the Grosse Pointes, Dearborn and Ferndale if you call before noon.

Can I put a roll-off on the street?

In Detroit, under a DPW right-of-way permit that we hold as the hauler. Hamtramck, Highland Park, Royal Oak, Ferndale, Livonia and four of the five Grosse Pointes have their own street permits; Warren, Southfield, Sterling Heights, Taylor and Grosse Pointe Farms publish none. On a driveway or private lot there is nothing to file anywhere we deliver, apart from the day limits in Dearborn and the Grosse Pointes.

What if I need it longer?

Tell us and we extend it. Extra days are charged at the daily rate quoted when you booked; in Dearborn and the Grosse Pointes we keep the extension inside the town’s day limit or line it up with your building permit.

Do you deliver to Macomb and Oakland County?

Yes: Warren and Sterling Heights in Macomb, and Ferndale, Royal Oak and Southfield in Oakland are all on our regular runs up I-75, I-696 and the Lodge.

A roll-off dumpster is the open-top steel container a truck rolls off its bed onto your driveway or site and rolls back on when you are done. Detroit Dumpster Co runs five sizes, from a 10-yard box that fits beside a car to a 40-yard container for demolition, delivered across Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park, Dearborn, Warren, Ferndale, Royal Oak, Southfield, the Grosse Pointes, Livonia, Sterling Heights and Taylor.

This page explains how the rental works from the first call to the pickup, so there are no surprises on either side.

What a roll-off rental includes

One flat price covers delivery, the rental period you asked for, pickup and a disposal weight allowance that depends on the container size. The per-ton overage rate, applied only if your load goes over the allowance, is stated on the same quote. There is no fuel surcharge and no separate disposal charge. Extra days beyond the agreed period, a second trip because the container could not be delivered or collected, or moving it once placed are charged at the rates we give you when you book.

Delivery day

The truck needs about 60 feet of straight room to back in and roll the container off, and about 14 feet of overhead clearance free of low wires and branches. We put the door end where you tell us so you can walk material in, and lay boards under the rails on request. You do not need to be there; a marked spot or a photo is enough.

Loading and pickup

Load level with the top rail; the truck has to tarp the container and travel legally, and an overfilled box gets levelled before it leaves. Keep prohibited items out: whole tires, yard waste, lead-acid batteries, used oil, liquids, refrigerant appliances with the gas still in, asbestos and hazardous chemicals all have their own routes in Michigan. Call when the container is full or the job is done and we collect it, usually within a business day, and haul it to a permitted facility.
