Commercial Dumpster Rental in Detroit, MI

Commercial dumpster rental from Detroit Dumpster Co covers the jobs a business does not want to think about: a store or restaurant fit-out, an office move, a warehouse clear-out, a multi-unit turnover, or the ongoing debris from a property-management portfolio across Detroit, Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. We deliver 20, 30 and 40-yard containers, swap them on a schedule, and bill one flat rate per haul.
Our trucks work I-75, I-94, the Lodge and I-696 all day, so we reach downtown, Midtown, the Southfield office corridors, the Van Dyke and Mound industrial strips and the Downriver plants quickly. Someone answers our phone around the clock, which matters when a contractor needs a swap at 6 am.
Property managers and landlords clearing apartments and multi-unit buildings between tenants. Retailers and restaurants on Woodward, Michigan Avenue, 9 Mile in Ferndale and Main Street in Royal Oak doing fit-outs and refreshes. Offices downtown, in New Center and along Northwestern Highway in Southfield moving or downsizing. Warehouses and light industry off Mound Road, Van Dyke and the Downriver corridors purging packaging, pallets and obsolete stock. Contractors around the GM Tech Center and the Ford campuses in Dearborn who want one number to call for the whole job.
Tell us the site, the material and how long the job runs. We recommend a size, quote a flat rate per haul with the weight allowance stated, and set up swaps on the days you want them. For long jobs we keep a container on site and exchange it as it fills; for a one-off clear-out we drop it and collect it when you call. Invoices are per haul, with the overage rate you were quoted applied only if a load goes over the allowance.
If the container has to sit in a Detroit street, the City’s right-of-way permit applies and we are the ones who hold it: City Code Sec. 42-2-54 puts the permit on the vendor for any container of two cubic yards or more in the right-of-way. Southfield’s zoning wants the city planner or traffic engineer to approve a dumpster location on a commercial site, and Royal Oak and Ferndale charge by the day for a metered space. On your own lot or loading area there is nothing to file anywhere we deliver. We work the placement out with you before delivery.
Fit-outs and office clear-outs are bulky and light, so a 30-yard container is usually the most economical. Warehouse and retail purges with high volumes of packaging go to a 40-yard. Heavy material from a commercial demolition, such as concrete, block and plaster, goes in 10 or 20-yard containers so the truck stays legal, and because the transfer stations price renovation waste by weight, a separate box of masonry is also the cheaper way to tip it.

- Can I get a dumpster swapped on a schedule?Yes. Tell us the days and we exchange the container as it fills. Same-day swaps are usually possible if you call before noon.
- Do you rent front-load dumpsters for weekly pickup? No. We run roll-off containers for projects, clear-outs and construction, not permanent front-load bins. For a project that runs weeks or months we keep a roll-off on site and swap it.
- Do you work with property managers on multiple sites?Yes. Several Metro Detroit property managers use us across their portfolio: one contact, one rate card, containers delivered wherever the next turnover is.
- Can the container go on the street outside my shop?In Detroit, only under a DPW right-of-way permit that we pull as the hauler. Hamtramck, Highland Park, Royal Oak, Ferndale and the Grosse Pointes each have their own street permit and fee; Warren, Southfield, Sterling Heights and Taylor publish none. We check the rule for your address before we deliver.
